Gaviota goes ahead with Havana port hotel project

CUBA STANDARD — Amid a shutdown of tourism during the pandemic, state company Grupo Gaviota started construction of a boutique hotel in Old Havana, Prensa Latina first reported.

At a time when public investment in hotel construction has become the target of criticism by some Cuban economists, this is probably the first instance of new hotel construction since the beginning of the pandemic.
