At the 9th session of Cuba’s National Assembly, held at the end of July, 75 measures were announced that will have some impact on the country’s economy. President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in a speech to the Economic Affairs Committee on July 21, said: “Everything we are going to do will always be to save socialism, not selling or privatizing the country. We may have deprivations and shortages now, but we also have human dignity and security to live, as well as social conquests that allow free access to healthcare and education for all, without distinctions.”
