U.S. cigar maker hopes to import Cuban tobacco

CUBA STANDARD — Trying to revive a long-gone tradition, a Tampa, Fla.-based cigar maker hopes to import Cuban tobacco, to roll its own cigars.

J.C. Newman Cigar Co. suggests a U.S. sanctions exemption for the import of privately grown Cuban coffee should also apply to privately grown Cuban tobacco as well, trade publication Cigar Aficionado first reported.
